Nick Samuel has worked in a large number of genres and settings as composer, musician, bandleader, engineer and producer.
Nick began making a name for himself as a saxophonist around London's jazz scene, working with bands and in projects of diverse and varying styles, promptly forming his self-led project, Hopper and eventually moving into session work and then into composing/producing for both other artists as well as film scores/soundtracks. He has worked with artists / directors from around the world (as well as from the UK), spanning as far afield as France, Vietnam, Scandinavia, Spain and the USA.
A stylistically diverse composer, Nick's influences are routed in jazz and classical music, however influences are also drawn from pop, rock, metal and alternative genres. His versatile yet unique and subtle approach to composition has led to nominations such as Hopper's shortlisting for the 2007 Indy Awards' "Best Alternative Act" and a final nomination for "Blink" at the Teaserland Awards 2009.
