Biography

Nick Samuel is an award-winning composer and arranger, working across film, TV, and video games.

Nick has worked with producers, directors, creatives, and composers worldwide, delivering scores ranging from evocatively intimate pieces, to wide-screen, musical world-scapes.

Beginnings as a saxophonist saw him working with bands and projects within London’s Jazz, Rock and Metal scenes; his experience in live music and improvisation informing his compositions’ musical language, and how music communicates between image and audience. He is driven by a between-the-lines and nuanced approach to storytelling, and drawing influence from across the board of genres he utilises small ensembles, hybrid sounds, experimental techniques, and traditional orchestras to help express this.

Nick’s work spans film, TV, and video-games, as well as high-end commercials. Notable credits include: Pearl & Dean, Tesco, Coke Zero, Arthur & Merlin: Knights Of Camelot, Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy Of A Terrorist, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
